Fascist Governments need a public threat (real or imagined) in order to pull of their totalitarian policies.
Otherwise no one would tolerate it!
Fear is the tool used to make otherwise good people capitulate to mass hysteria and groupthink.
For the nazis it was the “Jew problem” – an imagined threat.
No one saw a “little piece of identifying cloth” as a problem until it was too late.
In America today it’s the “Covid problem” – a real threat, but drastically overhyped and used for political purposes.
The mask mandates and lockdowns were the teasers – a “testing of the waters” per se.
Now comes more lockdowns and/or Covid vaccination PASSPORTS.
In a vacuum, this would be heralded by civil right activists and free people alike as monstrous infringes on our civil rights and liberties. The ACLU would surely speak up against their role on disenfranchised black and minority groups.
But taken together the frog has been boiled and people are beat down and too weak and tired to fight back.
This is what populist movements like those under Trump demand of the people. To fall in line and to listen to the mob—to not think for themselves.
Trump ushered in a wave of populist mentality not seen in a long time here in the USA. His brand of totalitarianism allowed for a National lockdown of its populace under the guise of “their protection.”
The end result was misery, destitution, complete failure. Just as Trump is a complete failure.
Now a new government regime has take up his mantle. Trump wasn’t apparently fascist enough! Now comes American Fascism version 2.0: Covid passports.
Populism and the era of Trump lives on. New methods of racism rise anew like a phoenix from the ashes. It is given the name Covid Passport and “Covid mandates” but the result is the same: a disenfranchised black and poor social strata.
The populism game of fascism and racism hurt most those of us least privileged.
The media roots populism on with pet slogans and bumper-sticker phrases. The current iteration is “trust the science” or “we’re alone together.” These are designed as poorly-camouflaged propaganda to demand conformity.
The well-connected and politically nefarious use the crisis to take power and move money around like never before in history. To them the crisis is just a tool to wield and deploy power.
This is not a case of “anti vaxxers vs the science believers.” That is the comedically-oversimplifed narrative for those who have two brain cells and no ability to think for themselves. This is a case of statist and fascism groupthink vs those who believe the only one who has a right to your body is you.
The definition of a slave is someone who is property: one who has no control over what they do or their own body. That is what is at stake.
If Covid passports become normalized in society then we, through populism and totalitarian ideology, have effectively outlawed living normally without capitulation to becoming a slave.
Fear is a great motivator. It makes people believe the narrative and trust in anything to help them feel safe.
Trump knew this. Just as all totalitarian leaders did before him. And now with Covid passports we face the great fear which will usher in a new caste system.
And we shall smile at Trump’s reflection in the mirror as we shackle ourselves, willingly—to the din of thunderous populist applause in the halls of American democracy.
