The pernicious spell that somehow, somehow, somehow held so many in its vicious, suffocating grip, convincing them this disastrous, unnecessary, undeclared, and unconstitutional war of choice with Iran, waged on behalf of Israel, was somehow good for America, has finally, mercifully shattered.
Broken! On Tuesday. By the blue wave.
It was in many ways the same cruel, calculated gaslighting that once forced a gullible nation poisoned by fear to swallow the grotesque, obvious lie that a coronavirus virus which exploded into existence right beside the Wuhan Institute of Virology had nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with that coronavirus laboratory….
It took Jon Stewart making a joke on the Colbert Report to shatter that lie and break the spell. Looking back now, the cover-up was not merely false. It was ridiculous. Pathetic. An insult to basic reason, sustained by terrified censors and self-appointed priests of science who denounced the most elementary, staring-you-in-the-face explanation as heresy while bodies piled and the truth waited, patient and undeniable.
For the last year and a half the same exact machinery insisted this unconstitutional and unproved war with Iran was “wise, necessary, even noble.”
That spell now is broken. Thank God in Heaven!
Tuesday’s wave did not debate the spell. It simply showed the ugly truth. It simply made the pretense impossible. Exposed the whole enterprise as the chosen catastrophe it always was. A war whose only true beneficiaries never lived here, never paid the price, never buried the dead.
What collapsed was not some obscure fact. It was the permission, the social air itself, that allowed intelligent people to keep pretending they did not see.
The Biden debate stage was exactly the same and the same thing happened there!
For months the mental and cognitive decline was unmistakable, visible, undeniable to anyone with eyes and the courage to use them. A senile old man was deteriorating before everyone’s eyes…
Yet the chant continued, “sharp as a tack, sharp as a tack”, a frantic, desperate refusal to name the obvious.
The same rupture is happening now with this war. The spell’s breaking does not demand every former believer crawl forward and recant. They never do.
But it does demand that the pretense of necessity and wisdom become more painful, more expensive, more shameful to maintain than the simple admission of error. In that narrow, decisive sense the break is already complete. And it is always, always better that an evil spell fail than that it continue. Look, everyone, the emperor is naked! And he is a warmonger covered in blood of innocent people. May the blue wave wash over his sins, but never absolve this vile administration. It deserves everything it receives! From covering up the Epstein tapes to abandoning DOGE to helping wash Gaza with innocent blood, to bombing a school of baby girls in Iran, this administration deserves the Blue wave!
Sadly, that selfsame blue wave will drown Freedom itself in her crib. But that is the fault of those whose actions broke the dam. Damn this administration and its vile hypocrisy. Damn them all to hell!
